About SnapGrab

SnapGrab is a free, browser-based tool that helps people save publicly shared videos and photos from Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and TikTok. You paste a link, we read the public information attached to that post, and we hand you a direct download button along with the original title, author name and caption so the context of the post is not lost.

Who runs SnapGrab

SnapGrab is an independent project maintained by a small team of web developers in India. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Meta Platforms (Instagram, Facebook), Google (YouTube) or ByteDance (TikTok). All trademarks belong to their respective owners. You can reach the maintainers any time at officialsellnity@gmail.com.

How the tool works

When you submit a link, our server requests the public page or the public media metadata for that post. From that response we read the media file address, the title, the author handle and the caption. Nothing is downloaded to our servers and stored: the file is streamed through to your browser at the moment you press the download button, then the connection closes. No queue, no account, no email confirmation.

Why we built it

Saving a clip you were sent, or backing up a reel you posted yourself, used to mean installing a random mobile app full of pop-ups and permission requests. We wanted a version of that with a single input box, no install, no sign-up and a page that loads fast on a slow mobile connection. Every feature on SnapGrab is judged against that goal.

What we support

Instagram reels, feed posts, stories, IGTV videos and multi-image carousels; Facebook videos, reels and watch links; TikTok videos without watermark where the platform exposes them; and YouTube video titles with high-resolution thumbnails and cover images.

What we will not do

We only process content that is already public. We do not access private accounts, followers-only posts, protected stories, paid or subscription content, or anything that requires logging into someone else's account. We do not host a searchable archive of the links people paste, and we do not republish anyone's media on our own pages.

Creators and copyright

Downloaded media stays the property of the person who created it. SnapGrab is a transfer tool, not a licence. If you are a rights holder and want a specific URL blocked from the service, see our copyright and DMCA page, and we will action valid requests quickly.

Reliability

Social platforms change their systems often, so some links stop working without warning. When that happens we update the extractor as soon as we can. If a link fails for you, tell us the URL through the contact page — real examples are the fastest way for us to fix a break.
