How to download Instagram stories
Paste a public story or profile link below to save it before the 24 hours run out — or read the four steps first.
The four steps
Open the story you want
Find the public account and open the story in the Instagram app or on the website.
Copy the link
Tap the three dots and choose Copy link. If that option is missing, copy the profile URL — instagram.com/username — and paste that instead.
Paste it into SnapGrab
Drop the link into the box above and press Download. A preview of the story media appears in a second or two.
Save the photo or video
Press download on the item you want. iPhone: open Files → Downloads and use Save Video or Save Image to move it into Photos.
Stories vs highlights
A story lives for 24 hours and then vanishes for good. A highlight is a story the owner pinned to their profile, so it stays available much longer and can be saved at any time using its own link.
If a story has already expired, no downloader can bring it back — the file is gone from Instagram's servers.
Getting it into your gallery
Android: the file lands in Internal storage → Download and Gallery indexes it automatically; move it into DCIM if it does not show up.
iPhone: open Files → Downloads, tap the item, then share icon → Save Video / Save Image to put it in Photos.
If nothing loads
Private account: only public stories can be fetched.
Expired story: older than 24 hours means it no longer exists.
Wrong link: use Instagram's Copy link button or the plain profile URL.

How do I download an Instagram story?
Open the story, copy its link from the three-dot menu (or copy the profile URL), paste it into the box above and press Download. Photos save as JPG and story videos as MP4.
Will the person know I downloaded their story?
SnapGrab does not post, follow or view anything on your behalf, so nothing is sent to the account owner. Viewing the story inside Instagram itself is what shows you in their viewer list.
Can I download stories from a private account?
No. Only stories from public accounts can be fetched, and there is no way around that.
How long is a story available to download?
Stories disappear after 24 hours. Once Instagram removes it, there is nothing left to fetch — highlights stay available for longer.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes, in any browser on either platform, plus Windows and Mac. No app and no signup.
